Valencia Basket men's team managed to extend their EuroLeague Playoff series against Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens after winning the third game by 87–91. They will now have the chance to bring the series back to the Roig Arena in Game 4 (Friday 8th, 20:15, Telekom Center Athens, Movistar+ Plus), facing the difficult challenge of securing a third victory on a court where they have already won twice this season and becoming only the second team in EuroLeague history to recover from a 0–2 deficit and force a fifth game — something Valencia Basket already achieved in the 2014 Liga Endesa semifinals.
In the third game of the series, Pedro Martínez’s men maintained control in the aspects of the game they had been managing well, while also matching their opponent’s three-point shooting percentage and minimizing turnovers to earn their first win of the series.
In this game, Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens will tie LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne and Olympiacos Piraeus as the team Valencia Basket has faced the most times in European competition. Additionally, the OAKA will equal the SEF as the arena Valencia Basket has visited most often in Europe’s top competition.
In addition to the already known absence of Xabi López-Arostegui, the orange team will also be without their captain Josep Puerto for this game and the following ones, after he injured his left ankle in the third game of this series.
